Instructions:
1. Storage Conditions
① Must be stored in a relatively dry warehouse, with the recommended indoor temperature above 10°C and relative humidity ≤60%.
② Vacuum packaging theoretically allows indefinite storage. However, due to potential external factors that may cause packaging damage and subsequent moisture absorption of the flux, it is recommended to store for less than 1 year.
③ During storage, keep at least 300mm above the ground and 300mm away from the walls.
2. Pre-Welding Preparation
① After opening the packaging, first check if the vacuum packaging is intact. If damaged, conduct a trial weld; if no porosity occurs, it can generally be used normally.
② Thoroughly clean oil, rust, moisture, and other contaminants from the workpiece surface.
3. Simple Handling Methods for Moistened Welding Wire
① Keep in an oven at 50–60°C for at least 8 hours. Do not exceed this temperature, as the wire reel may soften and deform.
② (equivalent to preheating and drying), provided it does not affect normal welding.
③ Another method (against stainless steel welding procedures) is to use high current (also for drying purposes), but this should be used with caution.
4. Welding Essentials
① Power Source: DC+.
② Shielding Gas: For EXXXT1-1 type flux-cored wires, use CO₂ with a purity ≥99.8%.
③ Shielding gas flow rate is generally 20–25 L/min.
④ When welding outdoors, if the wind speed exceeds 1.5 m/s, take windproof measures to prevent porosity.
⑤ Stick-out length should be maintained at 15–25mm. Excessively short or long stick-out may cause defects such as pits, gas grooves, and unstable arcs. Generally, control at ~15mm for Φ1.0 wires and ~20mm for Φ1.2–Φ1.6 wires. Increase stick-out appropriately if the wire is confirmed to be moistened.
⑥ For all types except martensitic stainless steel flux-cored wires, control interpass temperature ≤100°C.
⑦ During surfacing and clad steel welding, select appropriate welding conditions to control dilution, especially for the first layer.
⑧ When using an extended cable exceeding 15m, appropriately increase the voltage by 1–2V.
⑨ Wires left on the wire feeder overnight must be covered with canvas or removed and returned to storage.
